Individual Services

Health@Work offers workplace health advice and support to individuals and their employers.

The service is delivered in GP surgeries and within organisations and aims to:

  • help prevent and reduce ill health in workers
  • provide individuals and organisations solutions to workplace health issues
  • help people who have been ill, to return to work
  • improve work opportunities for people not currently in employment due to ill health or disability.

This service is confidential, independent and funded by the Working Neighbourhood Fund and is accessible to Liverpool residents or people working in the Liverpool area

We provide a workplace health advice and casework service to individuals and their employers. Referral can be via GPs, employers, self referral or through other agencies. Advice is also available via the telephone helpline.

Health@Work can provide information on practical and legal issues, general health and safety, specific hazards at work, rights at work, ergonomics, workplace adaptations, disability legislation, employment law and an advocacy/mediation service to try and get improvements in work.

We have well established links with relevant agencies – health and safety enforcement departments, disability advisors, trade unions, welfare rights advisors, legal advice, careers, and workplace health professionals.

Patient Quotes

“It is difficult to convey just how supportive these sessions have been. The adviser offered both emotional support and practical written advice. She spent a great deal of time with me… I have no hesitation in stating that without the support of my adviser during recent months, the effects on my health would have been even more profound.”

“The adviser’s intervention has given me the confidence to make changes in my behaviour, preventing future ill health...”

“I would definitely call you if I needed your help again and would recommend friends, family and colleagues to use your service.”

“…Made an awkward and painful experience easier to deal with – also quick and efficient.“

“At that particular time I was feeling isolated within my job role. The person I spoke to was very supportive giving me not only advice but alternative options… Having someone just to listen was enough… thank you.”
